SURAT : Veer Narmad South Gujarat University ( VNSGU ) may not be able to approve its annual budget in the Senate meeting on March 25 due to model code of conduct has been implemented in view of the upcoming elections general in the country.

Sources said the university if the budget was not approved by the Senate and then the university will not be able to take any financial decision for the financial year starting from April . This can affect the future plans of the university as current expenditure also put on hold , they claimed .
" Senate has the power to approve the budget, which if not done can create financial difficulties for the university from the financial year beginning in April," said the senator and member of the union Gaurang Vaidya .
Vaidya said : "In the past , the budget had been approved even though the model code of conduct in force , this is not a major problem VNSGU Some officials have created this problem from scratch. . . "
